Walgreens 9/25 - I love this store!

My local store does a lot of promotional deals- especially around the double dip each month - the best part? Works for me Wednesday: Web sites & Survey programs

I've used a variety of survey programs over the past few years. Especially when I was in college because I had a lot of free time in between classes (homework? please!)

This is a post I've wanted to write for a while because I know how hard it can be to find reputable sites. Anyway, here are some of my favorites:
  • Ebates - This site rocks! Sign into it before shopping online and they will give a percentage of what you spend back to you! :) Plus, get $5 when you sign up and $5 for every person you refer! (If you sign up to this I'll love you forever!)

  • E-Rewards is one of the easiest to earn rewards for. I have earned a couple hundred dollars worth of magazines, free dvds & movie rentals (Blockbuster is an affiliate) and more ! Try it! :)

  • MySurvey is your standard survey company. They send you emails when they have surveys they want you to and you can redeem points for 'raffle' type tickets, gifts, giftcards and my personal favorite: cash! (checks) I've probably made $50 (in $10 incriments) over the past two years.

  • Revolution Money Exchange! First of all this is a great way to exchange money, whether you have an etsy shop, you're buying coupons, or you just owe someone something. (I have made $50 just for having a referral button on my blog! And the money goes right into your checking account or can be sent to you via check!) Love it!

  • Justine recomends Big Crumbs. She says: "They are similar to ebates, so if they don't have a store on their list I check Big Crumbs next. Anytime I buy anything off of ebay I use BC and get money back!" Thanks Justine!

More to come! Do you have a site that works for you? Let me know and I'll post it here!

Quick note

Hi all!
Just a quick note to apologize for the light shopping last week. (Haha I know, stop snickering!) ;)One of my very best friends is getting married and I was busy cleaning & planning for her bachelorette party. She's also a reader - Hi MELIS!

I also wanted to share something I made for the party. It's one of my new favorite recipes from Crockpot 365 - Buffalo Chicken Dip ! I substituted Ranch dressing for the Blue Cheese (because that's what I had) and we ate it with Tostitos scoops and Tastefully Simple Beer Bread (mmm!)
It was pretty amazing if I do say so myself!

Let me know if you try it! :)

I absolutely love Martha Stewart! Not just because she is so creative and crafty and everything she makes is simple (but still gorgeous) but because I think she is an amazing businesswoman. I often quip that my goal in life is to start a home empire ala Martha, but I'm serious! How cool would that be?

Anyway my wonderful fellow bloggers, feel free to enter Martha's blog contest here!

(and ps: She had Perez Hilton on her show!!!!! :) )

What I'm buying this week: CVS Preview

I know it's Monday and I should have all of my deals bought and my pictures posted already! Alas, I ran into CVS over the weekend and saw that terrible cashier working. I'm not going to lie, I was not happy. And then, I ran to grab some Cristophe's and some trickster had taken all of the peelies. Bummer! So I just walked out and am not particularly happy with shopping at that CVS.

Anyway: Here is what I'm buying this week:

  • Purex (on sale @ $2.99 with 1 ecb back) used 50 cent coupon from recent mailing or $1/2 from recent newspaper = $1.50 ea after ECB!
  • Hershey's Bliss (on sale @ 2/$6) I think there was a B1G1F printable awhile back- I'm going to try and use that with the $2.50/2 coupon that was in yesterday's paper = 25 cents ea!
  • St. Ives skincare (Buy $10 get $5 ecb) will try to use B1G1 coupon from recent paper and $1/1 coupon from recent paper so that I pay $1.00 or less OOP depending on the prices. (*Please let me know if this works for you!)
  • Aleve D ($3.99 with 3 ecb back!) will use $1/1 printable = FREE! or from newspaper or $2/1 from magazine!!!! :) <--- moneymaker!
  • Excedrin Express Gels ($3.99 with $3.99 back) = FREE!
  • Jolt Gum is on sale for $.99 I believe there were coupons for these a coupole weeks ago... will have to look.

I'll try and go back and find out which papers these coupons were in later... Now tell me, do you like the preview? Or would you rather just see my posts after the fact?

Am I missing anything?

What I'm buying this week:

Every week I make myself a big post it filled with my weekly deals- I thought this week I'd share my preview: These are some things I may buy at Walgreens:

  • Glade Glass Scents, Candles etc (Rebate #33 Limit 4)
These are on sale for $1.99 with $1 ESR
used four $1/1's from a recent insert or two B1G1 on the scented oils = FREE!

  • Colgate Max Fresh Toothpaste (99 cents after in ad coupon limit 2) used two $1/1 coupons = FREE!

  • Right Guard Deodorant ($2.79 B1G1F) use two $1/1 coupons = 79 cents for two!

Stop & Shop - two transactions

It's dumb but I did this in two transactions. I literally drove to S & S, saw the Robitussin on clearance, thought I'd get it at Walgreens and skipped over it. And then, when it wasn't at walgreens (and I found more coupons in my purse,) I drove back ... gah!

Trans 1:
  • 4 - cans of Spaghetti O's ($.67 cents) used two $.40/2 doubled = 26 ish cents ea!
  • 1 - Muir Glen Organic Tomato paste ($1.19) used $1/1 = 19 cents!
  • 2 - Hunt Choc pudding 4 packs ($1.25 ea) used $.75/2 doubled = $.50 ea!
  • 1- Kotex liners ($1.29) used $.75/1 doubled to price = FREE!

  • 3 - Robitussin Cough & Congestion tablets (on 50% off clearance @ $2.49 ea) used three $3/1 coupons = -$1.53 !!!
Total: $3.63 ($3.46 + 17 cents tax)

Total for trip was $5.89 which was fine with me as Renu is more than that @ regular retail!!! :)

Get anything good this weekend? Tell me! :)

Wags -9/13

Ugh! They were out of Robitussin and cleaners!!! Here's what I got instead:
  • 2 - Oust Sprays ($2.99) used $1/1 easy saver coupon (x2), $2/2 coupon and B1G1F = FREE!
  • 1 - Crest Pro Health ($4.49) out of coupons! :( = $4.49
  • 2 - Visine for contacts ($3.99) used $2/1 Easy Saver coupon and two $2/1 coupons = FREE! (well not really, read below!)
I used a $3/$10 for our grand opening sale so my total should have been around $1.50 with $4.50 RR's back.... well, you know it's never that easy!
My total came to $4.57 and I used a $1 RR from excedrin last week and paid the rest with my gift card (full knowing that once I got my reciept I'd have to figure it out.)

Come to find out one of the visines rang up for $6.49 (shelf tag was wrong) and neither of my $2/1 visines came off . GRR!!! So I asked the manager to help me out--- she wasn't super happy about it but she returned the visine (-$4.71), gave me back one of the $2/1's (she kept saying that she couldn't give me more than my subtotal) and rang up another $3.99 one which cost me in tax I'm assuming, 10 cents! So basically my total was around $.15! woohoo!! and I received $4.49 back!!!

of course I'll never get back that extra 30 minutes... lol :)

Big Y - 9/14

a little high but I think I did okay - now what am I going to do with all of that spinach!?

A little story about Walmart....

Let me first say that I got a nice letter in the mail yesterday from Reba @ CVS Corporate! I may frame it in my CVS Room, just for kicks. (And yes, we do call it the 'cvs room'.)

Anyway, on Wednesday night I ran to Walmart - just to pick up a few things. It ended up turning into a lot of things and a lot of coupons. Here's how it all went down:

ME: You're gonna hate me, I have a ton of coupons.

CASHIER: Hun, I get 'em all day long, it doesn't matter to me. (Yay!)

10 minutes later, the line has grown to about 6 people behind me and she's having trouble putting in my coupons....I have her take off some of the items, etc. I am, as per usual, calm but a little bit mortified.

ME: Thank you for being so patient!

CASHIER: It's totally okay. .... Your total is $8.xx!! You saved.... a lot! (initial total was about $50)

ME (to 3 women directly behind me): I'm sorry it's taken so long! (I expect glares)

WOMAN BEHIND ME: $8.xx! For all that!!! You go girl! I only have four coupons (shows coupons) I can't believe how good you did!

I look to the 5 other women in line, they all look at me nodding and saying things like "wow!" and "yeah, YOU GO GIRL!" It was like in the movies, when everything melts away and everyone is looking at you (yes, I know I'm dramatic!) And no this was not a dream!!!!
And I just stood there in this glow of awe. (lol.)

I told them about hotcouponworld (damn me for not having my blog on cards or something!) and went on my very merry way. (And one of the women chased after me with one of my bags filled with easy mac- this always happens at this Walmart!)

That goes in my proud couponing moments hall of fame!

Anyway, just wanted to share my happy moment. And apparently there still are decent cashiers in this world!!!!
