Get the Look: Bold Metallic Eyes!

I love a bold eye - so when my friends at Mary Kay asked me to recreate this metallic eye look from the Season Finale of Project Runway I was thrilled!

Mary Kay Global Makeup Artist Luis Casco created glowing silver eyes for the models of “Project Runway” winner, Sean Kelly which easily transfers from runway to real way.  I love this look because its fun but still wearable. It also really makes your eyes pop!

I started with a clean, moisturized face. I then applied Mary Kay Cream Eye Color in Glacier Gray all over my eyelids. You can use a brush, but for cream color I find it goes on well with just your fingers.  This acts as a base for the shadow so don't be afraid to go a little heavy.

Next I applied Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color in Sterling to the bottom part of my eyelids using an eye shadow brush. You want to coat the part of your eye near the lash line and blend the shadow up and out so it just lightly coats the top and outer parts of your eye. (This also helps if you are prone to creasing with cream shadow).

Next I used Mary Kay at Play Eye Crayon in Purple Smoke to line my lash line and along the crease of my eye, giving it a slightly smokey, metallic look:

I had to do this a couple of times to get the full effect of the purple. Then you want to lightly blend it all together:

I finished the look with two coats of Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara in black, a little swipe of mineral powder to combat any shine, and dusted my face and neck with Mary Kay Bronzing Powder in Light to Medium. I then used a coat of Mary Kay at Play Jelly Lip Gloss in Teddy Bare to complete the look.

The finished look:

Verdict: I really like this look. It's really fun but still very wearable for everyday. I can see myself wearing this look to work and/or when I go out. I will definitely be wearing it to some upcoming holiday parties - how great would it look with a cute black dress?

The mix of cream and powder shadow is great because it's long lasting and high impact. I was also able to do this whole look in less than five minutes, which is also a plus especially on busy mornings!
The Purple Smoke eyeliner is a nice change up to my normal black or brown liner and it is actually very neutral looking on.  I also really loved the Teddy Bare lip gloss - it's a perfect nude lip color that goes on smooth and doesn't leave my lips feeling sticky.

Here is a picture of all of the products I used today (minus the bronzer/ mineral powder) :
