To start, I used Mary Kay® CC Cream Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in light to medium. This stuff is seriously magical. It works as a concealer and a foundation - I dabbed it around my eyes, on my eyelids as a primer and on a couple trouble spots. It evened out my complexion and the color rubs in to be a perfect match! This is a great base!
Next I used a light colored eye shadow across my whole eyelids. This gives your eye a touch of brightness and helps intensify the look. I then swept Mary Kay® Mineral Eye Color in Driftwood in the creases of my eyes to create a smoky look. This shadow is great because it has really good coverage - you only needed a little bit to get the full effect. I then topped it off with Mary Kay At Play™ Bold Fluid Eyeliner in Violet! The trick with this eyeliner is to do a coat, go and finish the rest of your makeup - and then do a light second coat to get the full violet effect. I really wanted it to have some punch, and this did the trick!
I'm surprised it took me this long to try purple eyeliner - this was a really fun look and I actually think it's something I'd wear on a more regular basis - even to work!
I then added a coat of Mary Kay® Lash Primer and two coats of Mary Kay® Lash Love Waterproof Mascara in Brown. I really like the lash primer because it gets all of your little lashes and plumps them up so you can see them! Then the mascara gives them va-voom. The mascara had a nice light look to it - it definitely looked more natural than black would have - and had really good coverage.
I finished this look with loose powder, bronzer, and Mary Kay® True Dimensions™ Lipstick in Pink Cherie. I love this color because it's light but still gives a nice shine and finish. The lipstick is not your mama's lipstick either -it goes on smooth like a gloss and has a nice even coverage.
After I was done putting on my makeup, I washed my eyeshadow and powder brushes with Mary Kay® brush cleaner. This stuff is great! I don't know how often you all clean your makeup brushes, but I know I don't always (bad, I know). But this stuff was so easy! All you do is spray it one and blot it off with a tissue. The powder comes right off! Awesome!
Here's the finished product - please ignore the messy, rainy day hair!
And here's a shot of the products I used! I love Mary Kay! For more makeup options, or to find a Mary Kay
Verdict: I really liked this look and will definitely be adding it to the rotation. It was easy to put on and was a fun look for summer!
