Get the Look: Bronzing Without the Rays! (Mary Kay Review)

I'm back with another fun new makeup look to kick off summer! As someone who loves to look tan, I love bronzer and wear it every day! It's the best way to get a bronzed look without worrying about exposing yourself to wrinkles, sun spots or worse. I wear bronzer just about every day, and it's an easy way to upgrade your look. It makes you look younger, your teeth whiter and brightens up your whole face. Seriously, if you've never tried it - you are missing out! My friends at Mary Kay asked me to try out some of their new products to create this bronzed look. So here goes:

You want to start every look with a good base, so I started with one of my favorite products, Mary Kay®  CC Cream (color correcting cream). For this look you can even go a shade darker than your usual CC cream color, because it blends into your skin tone. You can put this all over your whole face (like foundation) to even out any blemishes - and to give your skin a boost. I love this product because it has SPF 15 in it and it gives you a sort of fresh look. I even use it under my eye makeup as a base. Next, I do my eye makeup. I used a light colored eye shadow across my whole eyelids. This gives your eye a touch of brightness and helps intensify the look. I then swept Mary Kay® Mineral Eye Color in Driftwood in the creases of my eyes to create a smoky look. This shadow is great because the color is really versatile and the coverage is awesome - you only needed a little bit to get the full effect. I then used a dark brown liquid eyeliner, and two coats of Mary Kay®  Lash Love Mascara in I Love Black.

After my eyes are done, I go back and do a couple of swipes of Mary Kay®  Bronzing Powder in Light to Medium. I L-O-V-E this stuff! It is such a great bronze color and it really blends well. You want to start at your hair line and hit the top of your forehead (with a fluffy brush) in the corners where the sun would naturally hit you - this is my favorite makeup secret! (See picture at left). You then want to smile, and get the apples of your cheeks and brush upwards. Then slightly swipe your jaw line and then one or two quick swipes down your neck so that you don't end up with 'Casper face' - where your neck and head don't match up right.

When I'm finished, I spray my whole face with Mary Kay Finishing Spray by Skindinavia. It's like hair spray for your face! You just spray it on your face (eyes closed of course!) in an X motion- and it can help your makeup last for up to 16 hours. I really was impressed with this, because I am very active and I work out during the day. This really worked and kept my makeup on!

Another cool product I use during the day to keep my face fresh and shine free is Mary Kay® Beauty Blotters - Oil Absorbing Tissues. These things are like magic and keep away shine! They are super convenient and work really well!

The finished look:

What do you think?! I think it looks pretty natural, no? This is one of my favorite new makeup looks for summer!
