This silicone cake pan is oven, microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe! Love that! Because I love cake but hate washing dishes! Silicone is a non-stick material so you don't need to coat the pan with spray or crisco prior to baking either! The cool thing about it being freezer safe is you could use it to make an ice cream cake or as an ice mold too!
I used this mold to make a chocolate cake today! I made a batch of chocolate cake (from a box, but don't judge!) put it in the oven at 325' for about 40 minutes. The cake came out perfectly - it baked even and came out of the pan really easily. It may have been the easiest cake baking experience I've ever had! Now I want to replace all of my pans with silicone!
Here's what my heart cake looked like prior to icing! I think it came out pretty nicely! Now that I think of it... this would be really good for brownies too! I am just starting a Wilton cake decorating class so I can't wait to practice with this and make something extra special for Valentines Day!
