$150 October Grocery/HBA Budget

I get a lot of deals, but just how much do I spend? For the month of October I'm going to try and keep track - AND, see if I can keep it all under $150. Think I can do it?

This $150 will include all groceries and household products, all CVS (etc) trips and stockpile contributions, and my lunches for the week.

10/1/08 - $150.00

  • -.57 cents (cvs)
  • - $8.02 (Stop and Shop)
  • + $16.00 (Stop and Shop) <-- The catalinas will go towards groceries!
  • - $2.06 (Walmart)
  • -$4.06 (Big Y)
10/2/08 + 10/3/08 = $151.29
  • - $8.95 (Stop and shop Glade's round 2!)
  • + $20.00 (S&S catalinas)
  • -13.73 (Big Y)
  • -6.61 (Stop and Shop) They wouldn't let me use more than 3 catalinas! :(
  • - $.15 (CVS)
10/7/08 = $141.85

  • - $3.48 (Big Y)
  • +$1.05 (Walgreens) - price adjustment from last week
  • - $.51 (Stop and Shop)
  • - $.34 cents (Stop and Shop)
  • - $.46 (CVS)
10/7/08 = $138.11

10/11/08
  • -$8.59 (Stop and shop)
  • -$18.27 (Big Y)
  • +$3.66 (returned wrong cat treats)
10/13/08 = $114.91
  • -$5.49 (Stop and Shop)
Oct 13: $109.42

10/19/08
  • -$8.67 (Big Y)
  • -$23.27 (Stop and Shop)
  • +$6.00 (frosted flakes)
10/19/08: $83.48
  • -$2.00 (Dollar Store)
  • -$6.50 (Walmart)
  • +$1.00 coupon reimbursement
  • -$.95 (CVS)
  • -$.45 (CVS)
  • -$4.99 (Stop and Shop)
  • -$.14 (CVS) - from 10/14 just found reciept
Total left as of October 23 = $69.45
  • -$15.54 (Big Y)
  • -$16.81 (Stop and Shop)
Total as of October 30th: $37.10
  • -$15.63 (Price Rite)

Total left over as of 10/31 = $21.47 - will roll this into next month's budget!


*Rite Aid Rebates are not included in these totals.

Good idea! I might try this next month, but set my limit at $75 since I don't have a hubby :-)

Good luck! I really should do the same and keep a running total... but I'll admit it, I'm too chicken to add up what I spend! LOL

I think you can do it! I need to start doing this since I want to try the $800 a year for 2009 like Erin does at Jane4Girls!
